Our Story
SINCE 1977
LaRoe's Restaurant, was established in 1977 by owner David LaRoe. Dave has been recognized by the Ohio Historical Society for his restoration and preservation of the W.F. Kerr Building, which was built in 1886. He was also recognized by the Center of Innovative Food Technology for his house poppyseed which you can buy by the bottle at the restaurant, and many independent grocery stores in the area. The restaurant is a quiet, cozy place to eat or drink with family and/or friends. We have our patio that sits with a fantastic view of the river, a tavern with booths and bar stools, and a dining room with tables and chairs that has portraits of prominent people in Grand Rapids done by the late William Kuhlman. The entire restaurant has artwork done by Becky Shepard.

Our Gem, The Patio on The River
Our Gem, The Patio on The River
Our patio, which was added to the building in 2007, has been a big attraction for the people of Grand Rapids and all who visit. Sit and enjoy your meal with a gorgeous view of the Maumee River. We recommend to always call ahead for reservations on the patio, as the tables fill quickly. Grab a table in August to hear artists during the Sunset Jazz & Art Festival, or for Rhythm on the River on Sunday afternoons starting June 6th. The patio is weather permitting.
